NextGen America launched their advocacy campaign to support bail reform in California in March 2018 through Senate Bill 10, which I’m happy to say passed in August of the same year. With just over $200,000 spend for digital advertising, I was particularly invested in this project. As lead writer for this campaign, I had the opportunity to dive deep into the problems of mass incarceration and the long term effects it has on people of color and those that can’t afford to make bail.
